About the Event

The Gong is an ancient healing modality used by many cultures in meditative practices for thousands of years.

It is a vibrational sound therapy which creates a resonance throughout the body - reaching us on a deep cellular level and can often produce profound healing effects.

Gong meditation is excellent for stress relief, relaxation, altered consciousness and creating a deep sense of calmness, peace and well being. It also facilitates the breaking up of emotional blockages within each person that practices this technique.

The session will include very gentle yogic practices, pranayama (breathing) exercises, guided visualisation and gong meditation followed by healing teas and light refreshments.

As body temperature tends to drop during deep relaxation, we recommend you wear warm, comfortable clothing. You may also wish to bring along an extra blanket and pillow for your comfort.

Please note gong meditation is NOT suitable during pregnancy, if you have a pacemaker or if you suffer from psychotic episodes or acoustic trauma.

If you wear hearing aids they MUST be removed before the session begins.

This open air session will be delivered in the beautiful grounds of Shotton Hall Banqueting suite in Peterlee. There is free onsite parking and accessable toilets available.

Yoga mats will be provided, however you may like to bring your own - along with a blanket and pillow for your comfort. Please note that body temperature tends to drop during deep relaxation so it is suggested that you dress warmly.

This will be a small group gathering in line with social distancing and gathering rules, therefore availablity is strictly limited and early booking is essential.
